Feathers will fly tonight when Graves County hosts Mayfield in the annual 'Battle of the Birds' game. To say the Eagles are struggling coming into the game would be an understatement. Graves is 1-2 on the season after losing last week 36-22 at previously winless Paducah Tilghman. The Eagles committed four turnovers and had trouble in the passing game, completing only 7-of-22 passes for 58 yards.

Meanwhile, Mayfield is 3-1 after last week's 21-10 victory at Murray. The Cardinals running attack is led by Trajon Bright, who has rushed for 437 yards and nine touchdowns already this season. The Cardinals' defense is as good as advertised, holding opponents to 17 points per game and just over 200 yards of offense per game. Mayfield has won the last five meetings with the Eagles.

Prediction: Mayfield 35, Graves County 17

McCracken County is off to a 3-0 start this season and faces their biggest challenge of the season Saturday night at McCracken County’s Marquette Stadium. That is, if you believe what you read on the internet.

The Mustangs welcome the Southaven (MS) Chargers (3-0) in the third game of the 2nd Annual McCracken County Bowl. According to MaxPreps.com, the Chargers are ranked 11th in the state of Mississippi and 287th in the nation, while the Mustangs are ranked 11th in Kentucky and 702nd in the nation. To put that in perspective, McCracken’s previous opponents are not ranked anywhere near as high. Paducah Tilghman is ranked 3,796th nationally and Mayfield is ranked 1,467th nationally in the same poll.

What does that mean in the grand scheme of things? Not much, most likely. But McCracken County Coach Jack Haskins knows his team will be faced with a tough challenge Saturday night. The Mustangs used a 29-6 second half run versus Dyer County two weeks ago to win 42-20. McCracken County junior quarterback Zyaire Hughes rushed for three touchdowns in the second half to lead the charge for the Mustangs.

Prediction: Southaven, MS 35, McCracken County 31

Paducah Tilghman's tough non-district schedule gets even tougher this week when they play at Fort Thomas Highlands Saturday. The Blue Tornado (1-3) is riding high after picking up their first win of the season last week, a 36-22 home field win versus Graves County.

Highlands moved to 3-0 on the season after last week's 49-7 beatdown of John Hardin. The Bluebirds's backfield has rushed for 723 yards and 10 touchdowns through the first three games of the season. Quarterback Beau Hoge has passed for 681 yards and six touchdowns.

Prediction: Highlands 42, Paducah Tilghman 21
