Kamalie Matthews, a gentle giant at 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, signed a contract to play on the offensive line of the Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League, the team reported on its web site this week. Some CFL games are broadcast on the ESPN television networks.

A Rough Riders' web site says he played "35 career collegiate games through three seasons at Murray State. Last season, the 23-year-old Georgia native attended training camp with the Seattle Seahawks after signing with the team as a undrafted free agent."

Between then and now he served as an assistant football coach for the Graves County Eagles.
