KHSAA Suspends Winter Sports Practices
By West Kentucky Star Staff
FRANKFORT - Friday will be the last time winter high school sports teams in Kentucky can practice for a few weeks.

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association  has announced that all indoor interscholastic winter sports shall cease on Nov. 20 at 5 p.m. and is planned to resume on Monday, Dec. 14.

This cessation will apply to all indoor interscholastic sports at all school levels, including but not limited to basketball, bowling, competitive cheer, dance, indoor track and field, swimming, and wrestling.

The rule does not affect high school football in Kentucky. The KHSAA moved forward on Wednesday with plans to start the football playoffs Friday night. The championship games are scheduled for Dec. 18-20 at the University of Kentucky’s Kroger Field.
