After both players bogeyed the first two playoff holes and made par on the third, Jones sank a birdie putt from 8 feet. Brown then missed his birdie attempt from 5 feet, giving Jones the championship.
It was Brown's second top ten finish at state. Last year as a freshman, he finished sixth.
Marshall County's DJ Pigg shot 72 on Wednesday and finished the tournament tied for 23rd at 4-over 148. His teammate Quinn Eaton finished tied for 32nd at 7-over 151 after a final round 77. McCracken County's Chase Korte shot 80 and finished the tournament tied for 34th at 8-over 152.
St. Xavier won the team title by 37 shots over Franklin County. The Tigers shot a 9-under 279 on Wednesday and finished with a two-day total of 19-under 557. McCracken County and Marshall County tied for seventh at 43-over 619. The Mustangs shot 316 on Wednesday while the Marshals shot 314.
