Three local high schools made coaching hires Wednesday.

Fulton City hired Dain Gregory as its new head football coach. Gregory most recently served as an assistant football coach at Trigg County. Prior to that, he spent three seasons in Logan County, where he served as head coach. Gregory takes over for Mike Thomas, who is remaining on staff as an assistant coach.

Rob McDonald was named the new baseball coach at Marshall County. He has spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Marshall. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Murray State University. McDonald takes over for Mike Johnson, who stepped down earlier this week to become Marshall County's athletic director.

And Calloway County hired Brad Cleaver as its new head basketball coach. Cleaver is a former player at Calloway, who went on to play college basketball at Morehead State University. Cleaver takes over for Terry Birdsong, who left Calloway to become the new head basketball coach at Marshall County.
