Massac Girls 2nd At Belleville Invitational

The Massac County girls golf team led the way in their class and captured second place Saturday at the 12-team Belleville East Invitational.

Massac's team score of 333 topped Class A rival Nashville by seven strokes. Only Class AA's O'Fallon was better at 323.

O'Fallon senior Alyssa McMinn fired a 77 at Clinton Hills Golf Course. Massac's Millie Lawson was second at 80, with teammates Emma Korte in fourth place (82) and Lauren Coakley at 83 for eighth place.

This Saturday, the girls will host their own invitational tourney at the Metropolis Country Club.
