A western Kentucky high school basketball coach arrested earlier this month on rape charges now faces more charges.

Thirty-year-old Kwen Trice, a Murray High School assistant boys’ basketball coach, was arrested by Murray police on Friday, April 11. At that time he was charged with five counts of third-degree rape. All five counts allegedly involve the same MHS student.

According to Murray police, an additional victim has been identified and Trice now faces five additional counts of third-degree rape. He was arrested on Monday and lodged in the Calloway County Jail.

In addition to his coaching duties, Trice works for Murray Independent Schools as a teacher’s assistant. He’s been suspended without pay while the process plays out in court.

Trice has been an assistant boys' basketball coach at MHS for the past three years. He also coaches a girls AAU basketball team.
