Daniel Harper, Murray High School senior Offensive Lineman for the MHS Tigers, signed a letter of intent with Campbellsville University in a special press conference inside the MHS Library.

Harper, number 56 of the MHS Tigers, graded out at ninety-five percent (highest on team), with zero sacks allowed.  Harper’s awards include:  Louisville Courier Journal All State Honorable Mention, First Team All Purchase Team Offensive Line, and First Team All WKC Offensive Line.  A Paducah Sun 2015 All-Region Football Team honoree, Harper was a two-year starter at center for Murray High.

Keith Hodge, MHS Football coach, said Harper is one of the more competitive football players he has seen during his coaching career.  “As the year went along Daniel just got better and better with every snap,” he explained.  “We knew about half way through the year he would definitely get a shot at the next level.  He is a young man of high character and very deserving to be a part of Campbellsville University.

Daniel is an exemplary young man on and off the field,” said Teresa Speed, MHS principal.  “He is a fine example of a well-rounded student who will exceed at all he endeavors.”

Campbellsville University's main campus is situated in the heart of Kentucky offering 43 programs of study at the undergraduate level, 15 masters’ degrees and four post-graduate areas. The university is located on a 75-acre campus and one-half mile from downtown Campbellsville, the county seat of Taylor County, population 23,000.
