Mustangs Finish 14th at Class 3A State Track Meet

McCracken County's De'vharius Jones and Sam Barnett and Marshall County's Casey Gregory and Nathan Solomon were among the top local finishers at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Class 3A Track and Field State Championships, held Saturday at the University of Kentucky outdoor track facility.

Jones finished 5^th in the Boys Shot Put. Barnett placed 2^nd in the Boys Discus Throw and 16^th in the Boys Shot Put. Gregory finished 5^th in the Boys Pole Vault. Solomon finished 8^th in the Boys 400 Meter Dash, 11^th in the Boys 200 Meter Dash, 11^th in the Boys 800 Meter Run and 12^th in the Boys Long Jump.

In the team competition, Marshall County's girls finished 38^th. McCracken County's boys finished 14^th and Marshall County's boys placed 16^th.

Here are some other highlights from Saturday's meet.

Marshall County's team of Bailey Sandlin, Spring Dolbee, Camryn Crass and Melissa Ross finished 21^st n the Girls 4x800 Meter Relay. In the Boys 4x800 Meter Relay, Marshall County's team of Jacob Carnine, Collin Gunn, Austin Shackleford and Robert Blankenship finished 3^rd. McCracken County's team of Josh Grogan, Cody Tynes, Masahiro Fujita and Jeremy Latham finished 17^th.

In the Girls 100 Meter Hurdles, Marshall County's Stephanie Russel finished 11^th. Teammate Sydney Goff placed 14^th. Jack Brown of Marshall County finished 20^th in the Boys 100 Meter Hurdles.

McCracken County's Gemma Knight finished 17^th in the Girls 100 Meter Dash. Joey Marshall of Graves County finished 9^th in the Boys 100 Meter Dash. McCracken County's Zach Moore finished 10^th and teammate Rasheed Jones finished 12^th.

Marshall County's team of Stephanie Russell, Lexie Myers, Kara Kelley and Sydney Goff finished 10^th in the Girls 4x200 Meter Relay. McCracken County's team of Jennifer Wood, Kaylat Tuttle, Kelsey Riggi and Gemma Knight finished 18^th. In the Boys 4x200 Meter Relay, McCracken County's team of Simeon Herbert, Jake Kirkpatrick, Kyris Settle and Rasheed Jones finished 16^th. Graves County's team of Cole Barnard, Miles Avent, Lucas Murphy and Joey Marshall finished 19^th.

Marshall County's Collin Gunn finished 21^st in the Boys 100 Meter Run.

Marshall County's team of Jennifer Townsend, Brandy Baas, Stephanie Russell and Kara Kelley finished 11^th in the Girls 4x100 Meter Relay. McCracken County's team of Jennifer Wood, Mason Dowdy, Kelsey Riggi and Gemma Knight placed 17^th. In the Boys 4x100 Meter Relay, McCracken County's team of Zack Moore, Kyris Settle, Simeon Herbert and Rasheed Jones finished 5^th.

In the Girls 300 Meter Hurdles, Marshall County's Stephanie Russell finished 7^th. Teammate Brandy Baas finished 19^th.

Marshall County's Jacob Carnine finished 9^th in the Boys 800 Meter Run.

McCracken County's Ashley Zimmerman finished 11^th in the Girls 3,200 Meter Run.

Marshall County's team of Lexie Myers, Jazmine Rozycke, Sydney Goff and Melissa Ross finished 18^th in the Girls 4x400 Meter Relay. In the Boys 4x400 Meter Relay, Marshall County's team of Robert Blankenship, Jacob Carnine, Austin Shackleford and Nathan Solomon finished 6^th.

Marshall County's Sydney Goff finished 17^th in the Girls Shot Put.

Marshall County's Amber Crawford finished 13^th in the Girls Discus Throw. McCracken County's Quamea Jones finished 18^th in the Boys Discus Throw.

In the Girls Long Jump, Marshall County's Sydney Goff finished 20^th. Emily Greene of McCracken County finished 22^nd and Gracie Martin of Graves County finished 24^th. Graves County's Joey Marshall finished 18^th in the Boys Long Jump.

Marshall County's Michaela Manley finished 13^th in the Girls High Jump. Graves County's Miles Avent finished 13^th in the Boys High Jump. Marshall County's Drey Reed finished 15^th.

Marshall County's Audrey Grizzard finished 11^th in the Girls Pole Vault. Teammate Haley Swift finished 21^st.
