As a junior, Shaw posted a 7-2 record with a sparking 0.96 ERA and was selected to the All-District Team and the Regional Tournament Team. He struck out 46 in 51 innings while holding the opposition to a .149 batting average.
Two of his wins came on complete game, two-hit shutouts, one against Mayfield in the All “A” Regional semifinal and the other against Calloway County in the Regional semifinal. He ended the season on a roll, allowing just one earned run over his last 45 innings pitched. When not on the mound, Shaw sees action in right field for the Vikings, and posted a .324 batting average last season.
Shaw, who plays his summer ball with Legion Post 31, is the son of Carla and Steve Shaw of Paducah.
