Paducah Tilghman High School senior Isaac Humphrey signed a scholarship to play baseball for Lindsey Wilson College in a signing ceremony on Nov. 22 at Paducah Tilghman.

Humphrey, a first baseman and pitcher, played five years for PTHS. PTHS baseball was District and Region runner-up in 2013 and was District runner up in 2015. Humphrey was named to the All District team in 2015 and 2016 and was named to the KHSAA Academic All State Honorable Mention team. In addition to playing baseball, Humphrey also played three years of basketball and two years of golf.

In his remarks at the signing ceremony, PTHS baseball head coach Chris Johnson praised Humphrey's confidence and dependability.

"There never was a place- on the mound, behind the plate, or wherever I put him- that Isaac didn't feel confident, and that confidence is what has helped him get to where he is today," said Johnson. "In addition to his confidence, Isaac is dependable. I can always count on him to get the hit or get the out that is needed. His dependability and confidence have gotten him this far, and they will serve him well as he continues to play."

Lindsey Wilson head baseball coach Jonathan Burton feels that Humphrey's size gives him to potential to continue to develop his game on the college level.

"With Isaac's size, we like that fact that he is still growing into some things that we think can translate into some more power at first base," said Burton. "He's a good kid, and obviously you want to coach good kids because they listen and work harder. Isaac's got good potential and we look forward to having him on the team."

Humphrey said he was attracted to the Blue Raider's style of play and the small town atmosphere at Lindsey Wilson.

"Doc Hideg was a big factor in my decision," said Humphrey. "He told me that he thought the way the team plays might be a good fit for me. I went to visit and liked the small town feel of the campus, so I was eager to commit when they said they were interested in me."
