At the request of the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has closed the US 45 Ohio River “Brookport” Bridge at Paducah. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet personnel have responded to landslides Wednesday morning in Caldwell and Muhlenberg County. KYTC Spokesman Keith Todd says the landslides are likely due to soil being saturated by melting snow followed by heavy rain overnight. A local resident was forced to abandon her vehicle Wednesday morning after she drove into a flooded section of roadway.
