Burned Bridge Re-opens in Hickman County
By WestKyStar Staff
CLINTON, KY - Repairs to the KY 1037 railroad overpass south of Clinton in Hickman County are complete. The roadway has reopened after a fire damaged the bridge early Monday morning.
The wooden structure continues to be restricted to one lane traffic with a 3-ton load limit. The load limit restricts the structure to vehicles no heavier than a passenger vehicle or an empty standard pickup truck.
KYTC Engineers expect a new concrete structure planned for the site to be ready for construction sometime late this year or early next year.
Area fire departments responded at about 4:30 Monday morning to the bridge at the edge of Clinton. Early reports indicated the fire may have been deliberately set.
