GRAVES COUNTY, KY - One man was injured when a semi tractor trailer crashed in Graves County Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 2:00 pm on KY 131, north of Symsonia. According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, a semi truck and trailer, driven by 37-year-old Ahmed Ursad Muhumed, of Amarillo, TX, was traveling south when the truck dropped off the west side of the roadway and into a ditch.

The semi traveled in the ditch for approximately 20 yards before hitting a tree. The crash caused the semi to lose its load of 14,000 pounds of empty five-gallon buckets. The roadway had to be closed until the truck and contents were removed.

Muhumed was transported by Mayfield-Graves EMS to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
