Lake Barkley Bridge Inspection on US68/80
By WestKyStar Staff
CADIZ, KY - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a daytime lane and load width restriction on the US 68/KY 80 Lake Barkley Bridge in Trigg County starting Monday, June 25.

This restriction is to allow a detailed inspection of the bridge structure.

Motorists can expect to encounter one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers between approximately 8:00 am and 3:00 pm each day. Due to the use of a snooper truck to assist with the inspection, this work zone will include a strictly enforced 8 foot maximum load width.

Motorist should use caution in this work zone where equipment, flaggers, and inspection personnel will be on the bridge deck in close proximity to traffic flow.

This inspection work is expected to take about one week to complete.

The US 68/KY 80 Cumberland River/Lake Barkley Bridge, also known as the Lawrence Memorial Bridge and the Canton Bridge, is located at the eastern entrance to Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area.
