By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH, KY - A two vehicle crash involving a trash truck on Paducah's Southside injured a man Thursday morning.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, the crash happened in the 8 a.m. hour at the intersection of Estes Lane and Meacham Lane, where 24-year-old Payton O'Connell was driving a trash truck from Waste Path Services.

Deputies say O'Connell stopped at the intersection, but did not see a pick-up truck being driven by 34-year-old Anthony Davison, Jr.

As O'Connell started to make a left turn at the intersection, deputies say he pulled into the path of Davison's pick-up truck and caused the crash.  The crash also ruptured the fuel tank on the trash truck, causing a spill of approximately 50 gallons of fuel.

Davison was taken to Lourdes for treatment of minor injuries.  O'Connell was apparently not injured in the crash.
