Three Hurt in Two-vehicle Graves County Wreck
By Joe Jackson
MAYFIELD, KY - A two-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon in Graves County resulted in three injuries.

According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 3:15 pm, a car driven by Brenda Howle, of Paducah, was southbound on Hopewell Road. At the same time Dakota Stanfill, of Lynnville, was eastbound on West Plains Road in a pickup truck.

Based on witness statements as well as evidence at the scene, deputies said Stanfill apparently did not stop for the posted stop sign on West Plains Road at the intersection of Hopewell Road. Stanfill’s truck collided with the front passenger side of Howle’s car.

Howle’s car was pushed into the yard of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church causing damage to one of the church’s signs. Stanfill was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected out the driver’s side window of his truck, landing in the middle of the roadway on Hopewell Road.

Stanfill was transported to Western Baptist Hospital by Mayfield/Graves County EMS. Howle and her passenger, Kenneth Howle, were both transported to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The roadway was closed for roughly an hour while the scene was cleared.
