Wreck Closes Highway for Two Hours, Injures Two
By WestKyStar Staff
SUWANEE, KY - An injury crash just east of the US 62 Cumberland River Bridge shut down the highway for approximately two hours Thursday.

According to Kentucky State Police, an SUV, driven by 51-year-old Michael McLeod, of Kuttawa, was eastbound crossing the bridge when the trailer full of lumber he was towing began to fishtail. McLeod lost control of the SUV and struck a guardrail.

The SUV glanced off the guardrail and crossed over into the westbound lane of US 62, striking another vehicle, driven by 58-year-old Thomas Jennings, of Eddyville. McLeod’s trailer spilled its load of lumber on the roadway and the vehicle came to final rest blocking both lanes of the highway.

Both Jennings and his passenger, Barbara Jennings, were transported to Caldwell County Hospital by Lyon County EMS with minor injuries. McLeod and his passenger, Mitchell McLeod, were not injured in the wreck.
