Barbara Sturm, age 83, of Paducah, KY passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2018 at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital.
Barbara was born in Dearborn, Michigan on February 14, 1935 to the late Joseph and Fairy Thompson Reid. She was a member of Rosebower Baptist Church, Paducah-McCracken County Retired Teachers Association, Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, and Delta Kappa Gamma. She taught at Reidland Middle School and served as Principal at Farley Elementary School.
She is survived by her husband, John Sturm; her daughter, Karen Kneisler of Reidland; her two sons, Neil Ward (Ronna) of Paducah and Reid Ward of Franklin, TN; four stepsons, Craig Sturm of Ledbetter, Jeff Sturm (Mindy) of Paducah, Marc Sturm (Tami) of Benton and Pete Sturm (Kerie) of Paducah; sister-in-law, Ruth Reid of Paducah; six grandchildren, Anna Barnes (Joe), Austin Ward (Brooke), Haley Ward, Carson Ward, Jamie Kneisler and Grant Kneisler; twelve step-grandchildren, Ashley Posey (Scott), Amy Rutledge (Derek), Tracie Case (Les), Beth Poore (Andy), Jefferey Sturm (Amanda), Brittany Monroe (Ryan), Karlie Gentry (Emmett), Ryan Sturm, Kirsten Cannon (Justin), Autumn Johnson and Max Sturm; seven great-grandchildren and 19 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Betty Jo Brown and her brother, Jim Reid.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 6, 2018 at Rosebower Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Symsonia Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Visitation will also be held from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time at Rosebower Baptist Church.
