A former Murray Middle School principal has been named the 2025-2026 Kentucky Music Educators Association administrator of the year.

According to The Murray Ledger and Times, Bob Horne received the KMEA District One award for 2024-2025, which made him eligible for this year's state award.

The award gives recognition and thanks to administrators for putting emphasis on, and valuing their institution's music programs. It is awarded to those who have made significant contributions to music education in Kentucky, both at the K-12 and collegiate levels.

Horne will receive the award on Feb. 6 in Louisville.
