Alleged fight with deputies in Benton leads to assault charges

A man that reportedly caused a disturbance in Benton on Monday before blacking out will face assault and other charges.

Marshall County deputies were called to houser Road where they found 31-year-old James Streit. After he was examined by EMS, he reportedly tried to leave before he was advised to stay put.

Streit allegedly refused and an arrest was attempted.

The sheriff's office said Streit kicked one deputy and bit another before he was taken to the Marshall County Jail.

Streit was charged with alocohol intoxication, disorderly conduct, menacing, and assault.
