LaCenter man missing after boating accident in Wickliffe

Authorities are searching for a missing LaCenter man after his boat capsized at the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers on Thursday.

According to witnesses, 23-year-old Tyler Morgan was several miles upstream from the Wickliffe boat ramp and dropped a person off onto a barge when the boat capsized.

Authorities said he was wearing a personal flotation device, but it was apparently not zipped or buckled at the time of the accident.

The boat was recovered soon after with help from a crane on a nearby barge, but Morgan is still missing.

The river is currently above flood stage, making the search more difficult.
