A Benton man was arrested Thursday on forgery and failure to make required disposition charges.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says 35-year-old Eric Gene Pummer was taken into custody after a local plumbing company notified the sheriff's office a customer had possibly been the victim of theft.
According to the company, Pummer was sent to complete work at a Marshall County residence.
When Pummer completed the job for the customer, the customer paid Pummer by check.
It was discovered that the check amount was later altered and not submitted to the company.
Pummer was lodged in the Marshall County Jail.
