Child porn found in LBL results in Benton arrest

Kentucky State Police brought charges against a Marshall County man this week after child pornography was found in Land Between the Lakes. 

On Tuesday, officers with the U.S. Forestry Service found images of suspected child pornography near the eastern shoreline of LBL. 

KSP was notified and after several hours of searching, more images and electronic devices were located. 

Troopers' investigation led to a home in Benton, and on Wednesday detectives spoke to 58-year-old Monte Beasley. 

Beasley was charged with possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and tampering with physical evidence. 

KSP also learned that Mayfield police have been investigating similar images that were found in an abandoned home damaged by the December tornado, where Beasley previously lived. 

Mayfield Police and KSP continue to investigate and expect future charges against Beasley.
