Construction of New Soldier Creek Bridge on KY 2603/Vanzora Road in Marshall County begins Thursday

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to ramp up construction of a new Soldier Creek Bridge along KY 2603/Vanzora Road in Marshall County starting Thursday.

Vanzora Road has been closed at at the bridge since March of 2023, when inspectors observed significant deterioration of the bridge substructure.

Demolition of the existing bridge will ramp up this week, with construction of a new bridge to follow.

Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contactor on the $1.4 million project.  

The target completion date is October 1.
