Crew rescued from tugboat stuck on Mississippi River

A Mississippi River tugboat crew was retrieved from their boat Friday night after it got stuck on a dike.

A post by Hickman County Office of Emergency Management said they were dispatched to a report of a tug boat in distress near Wolf Island. A Marquette Transportation vessel struck the dike, resulting in a few barges breaking loose.

The vessel was sitting on the dike causing the boat to be unstable, so the six crew members were safely returned to the Columbus boat ramp and checked out by EMS.
