A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to be sealing cracks in the pavement along Interstate 24 in Lyon County on Thursday.
The work zone starting at 8 a.m. will be between the Cumberland River Bridge and I-24 Exit 45.
It's part of a $9.2 million project to seal and micro-pave sections of Interstates 24 and 69.
All work will be paused over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Micro-surfacing is expected to begin in approximately 30 days. The overall project is expected to wrap up by September 30.
