The McCracken County Fiscal Court met Monday evening, where they made several appointments to the Purchase Area Development District.
They appointed Jeff Parker to the Community and Economic Development Committee, while Rhoni Lowery was appointed to serve on the Aging Committee. Both Parker and Lowery will serve a three-year term beginning July 1.
In other news, the commissioners voted to have a special called meeting later this week to set the salaries for county employees for the 2022/23 fiscal year. There was also more discussion on the ongoing disagreement between the city and county over the E-911 and Sports Complex projects.
The commissioners and judge-executive continue to stand by their word of supporting the E-911 project and don't understand the city's hesitation in supporting the Sports Complex, as it costs the county $50,000 a month regardless if the project is moving forward.
