The former Code Enforcement Officer in Princeton made a court appearance this week.

WPKY reported 29-year-old Alan Getz is facing allegations of an inappropriate proposition involving a city business license.  Getz is charged with misconduct and tampering with physical records.

Court records indicate Princeton Police Detective James Fox began an investigation in September after allegations surfaced Getz had made a proposition to a woman to act in a manner in which would be perceived as an intimate relationship.

In return, Getz would waive a city business license.  The woman agreed to the transaction.

Detective Fox also reported during the investigation it was learned a woman responded to a city Facebook post to criticize a city service.

In response, he said Getz requested the woman to pay her city business license, with the woman then making a public post exposing the alleged proposition and arrangement and called Getz out by name.

Fox added Getz then deleted the post in an effort to hide the arrangement.

The detective said that a non-custodial interview was conducted with Getz October 29th in which he denied the allegations. Fox also said when questioned about deleting the post, Getz would only say it's possible.

Getz appeared for arraignment Monday in Caldwell District Court and was terminated from his job after the hearing.  He entered a not guilty plea and will appear for a preliminary hearing December 22nd.
