For the first time in several weeks, the average price for a gallon of gasoline went down about a penny, according to AAA. In the western half of Kentucky, the average price for gas dropped to just over $2.92.
In Paducah, the price is about a nickel below the average at just over $2.87.
The highest gas in the region is in Louisville at $3.06 a gallon, and the lowest is in Elizabethtown at $2.81.
Even with the penny drop, gasoline in Kentucky is still over seventy cents more than one year ago.
