Two men were arrested and charged with trafficking in meth, fentanyl, and suboxone following a tip and a traffic stop in Calloway County Thursday.

Deputies in the Calloway County County Sheriff's Narcotic Division got a tip indicating that 47-year-old Michael "Craig" Williams of Gilbertsville was headed to Radio Road to sell crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl in what were described as counterfeit oxycodone pills. The Williams vehicle was spotted and stopped just after midnight Thursday. Narcotics deputies searched the vehicle and located crystal meth and other items. They also learned that Williams and his passenger, 25-year-old Jordan T. Ligon of Paducah tossed even more drugs out of the car before the traffic stop.

Altogether, deputies seized some 22 grams of crystal meth, nine fentanyl pills, suboxone, baggies, and other items indicating the trafficking of drugs.

Williams and Ligon were each charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, fentanyl, and suboxone, plus possession of marijuana and tampering with physical evidence.

A K-9 from the Marshall County Sheriff's Office assisted in the search.

The Calloway County Sheriff's Office said that Williams and Ligon have a history of meth trafficking. Ligon was on supervised probation from a trafficking case in McCracken County, while Williams is on bond from cases involving violent offenses and meth trafficking from Lyon and Livingston County.
