The Kentucky Cancer Program's Horses and Hope Pink Mustang Tour will travel to several western Kentucky communities this month.

The initiative aims to honor those who have had breast cancer, and to promote breast cancer screenings.

The tour will be in Calvert City's Memorial Park on October 14 from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. for Pink Night in the Park.

On October 24, the tour will appear at the Breast Cancer Survivors' free luncheon at Texas Roadhouse in Paducah. RSVPs are required by calling 270-442-1310,

Free gifts will be provided to breast cancer survivors, and free souvenir Horses and Hope wristbands will be available. Breast cancer information will be provided, including referrals for free mammograms for eligible women.

Visitors will have an opportunity to add the name of a friend or family member to a pink horseshoe on the Wall of Hope during the events.

Horses and Hope was founded by former Kentucky First Lady Jane Beshear, and is an initiative of the Kentucky Cancer Program.
