Load limit lowered at Little Cypress bridge in Hickman County

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has reduced the load limit on the Little Cypress Branch Bridge along Whitlock Road in Hickman County.

The Little Cypress Branch Bridge is reduced to a three ton load limit after inspectors found deterioration of the bridge support structure.  The limit restricts the bridge to vehicles no heavier than an SUV or unloaded pickup truck.  

KYTC engineers will assist the Hickman County Road Department to determine if the bridge can be repaired or should be replaced.

The bridge is about 1/3rd of a mile east of the Whitlock Road intersection with KY 307.

Commercial Driver License holders are responsible for obeying bridge weight postings.
