A Marion man has been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run death of 18-year-old Mercedeys Culligan on Tuesday morning.
Calvert City Police said that 45-year-old Raymond E. Jarvis of Marion was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid with death or serious physical injury. Police believe Jarvis was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer along Oak Park Boulevard on Tuesday when Culligan was struck and killed near White Oak Lane.
Police Chief Michael Canon said that the investigation is continuing and that if anyone has additional information they should contact Calvert City Police.
Meanwhile, the reward for information about Tuesday's incident has continued to climb thanks to numerous contributions.
Several people and businesses have added to the reward offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver.
Calvert City officials announced Thursday the reward had climbed to $49,000.
