Marshall County residents, students and first responders honored the memory of two teens Tuesday on the 6th anniversary of the Marshall County High School shooting.

There was a large community turnout from students and residents who took time out of their day to attend the Marshall Strong Blood Drive in the auxiliary gym at the high school.

The Benton Police Department posted a tribute on social media: "Today, especially, our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Bailey Holt and Preston Cope. They will never be forgotten. We are also thinking of all of those who were injured and those students, staff, families, and first responders who were forever affected by this senseless tragedy.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office posted on social media, "Such a hard day for so many in our Community.  Such a tragic loss of two precious lives cut way too short.  We want honor both Preston Cope and Bailey Holt today in our memory of them.  We also want to ask the community for prayers not only for the Cope and Holt families, but also for each family that was affected that day.  The loss of innocence and security that was rip away from so many.  We still stand Marshall Strong with each one of you!"

The Marshall County Emergency Management Agency also posted, "6 years ago today, our community was forever affected, our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Preston Cope and Bailey Holt. These two children will never be forgotten. Also, please keep all those who were injured and the students, staff, families, and first responders in your thoughts and prayers also."

Cope and Holt were killed and several others were injured on January 23, 2018 when a fellow student entered the school and fired several shots as classes were set to begin.
