Houser named Lone Oak Middle School principal

McCracken County Public Schools announced the appointment of Matt Houser as the new principal of Lone Oak Middle School, effective July 1, 2025.
 
Houser began his career in education as a classroom teacher at Hendron–Lone Oak Elementary School in 2006. He later served as assistant principal at Lone Oak High School and then as principal in 2012 prior to the consolidation and opening of McCracken County High School (MCHS). Houser went on to serve as an assistant principal at MCHS before being named principal—a position he held for five years.
  
Houser holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in School Administration, both from Murray State University.
  
Current Lone Oak Middle School Principal Coye Elliott will be transitioning into a new position at the McCracken County Board of Education this summer.
