Mayfield accident leads to arrest

A two vehicle accident Sunday night in Mayfield injured one and lead to an arrest.

Mayfield police said the accident occurred at the intersection of Cuba Road and East Farthing Street.

26-year-old Wilson Perez Lucas of Mayfield was driving norhtbound on Cuba Road.  

The vehicle made a left turn onto East Farthing Street and hit a vehicle which had not cleared the intersection.

The operator of the second vehicle, 18-year-old Dreim Meilleur also of Mayfield, had been going southbound on Cubs Road before the crash.

Meilleur was treated at Jackson Purchase Medican Center for a possible head injury while two passengers in the Perez Lucas vehicle were not hurt.

Officers noticed the odor of alcohol on the breath of Perez Lucas. 

He was charged with a number of offenses including  open alcoholic beverage in a vehicle, three counts of wanton endangerment and a number of traffic related offenses.

Perez Lucas was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
