Murray man arrested after report of an assault on Sunday

A Murray man was arrested and charged in connection to a reported assault that occurred on Sunday.

Calloway County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home on Buddy Lane in Murray at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday. A victim at the home claimed that she had been assaulted and held against her will by 49-year-old Kevin Hopkins. She told deputies that Hopkins allegedly attempted to cut off her air by grasping her around the throat. Hopkins was not at the residence when police arrived.

Hopkins was located on Monday and arrested. He has been charged with assault-domestic violence, strangulation with minor injury, and unlawful imprisonment. Hopkins was taken to the Calloway County Jail.
