Paducah Convention and Visitor Bureau executive director Mary Hammond is retiring in the third quarter of 2024.

Throughout her 37-year career, she has served under seven mayors, having first joined the Paducah Tourist & Convention Commission in 1986.

Hammond was in place during the process to designate Paducah as a UNESCO Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art in 2013. She also serves as the coordinator for the 66 UNESCO Creative Cities of Crafts & Folk Art.

Hammond, who began her tenure as executive director in 2001, has been an advocate for Paducah tourism for decades.
