Paducah teen charged with assaulting girlfriend, fleeing police

A Paducah teen was charged with assaulting his girlfriend and fleeing from authorities on Tuesday.

The Paducah Police Department said they were called just after noon after a witness said he saw a woman trying to get out of a vehicle in the parking lot of a business.

The witness reported the 17-year-old dragging the girl back into the car by her hair, and was hitting her.

Officers arrived as the vehicle was leaving, and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver reportedly fled at speeds over 100 miles per hour on I-24.

After authorities used two tire deflation devices, the vehicle finally came to a sotp on Wayne Sullivan Drive.

The juvenile allegedly fled on foot before he was apprehended.

The woman was safely removed from the vehicle and evaluated by ambulance personnel.

The juvenile was charged with assault, unlawful imprisonment, wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading, criminal mischief, possession of meth, DUI, suspended operator's license and reckless driving.
