A pursuit in Calloway and Marshall counties ended with the arrest of a Paducah man on Saturday night.
A Calloway County Sheriff's deputy running radar on US 641 near Stewart Cemetary Road attempted to stop a speeding northbound vehicle just before midnight. As the deputy turned on his emergency lights, the vehicle shut off his lights to try and get away.
The driver, 22-year-old Ke’Shawn M. Scott of Paducah, continued on US 641 at a high rate of speed. The pursuit entered Marshall County and Marshall County Sheriff's deputies joined in.
Scott reached the I-69 interchange just south of Benton and struck the guardrail while trying to merge toward Mayfield. He hit the guardrail a second time and eventually pulled over.
Scott was arrested and charged with speeding, reckless driving, fleeing or evading, criminal mischief, wanton endangerment, and possession of marijuana. He was taken to the Calloway County Jail.
