A small earthquake was reported Friday evening in southern Illinois.
The USGS at the University of Memphis says the 2.2 magnitude quake occurred at 6:50 pm, and was centered five miles north of Chester, in Randolph County.
They also report that the depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometers, and that because it measured less than 2.5, it is doubtful that anyone felt it.
No damage has been reported from this earthquake.
