Smithland pair arrested for burglary

Two people were arrested on burglary charges in Smithland on Tuesday.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called by a property owner of a building on US 60. The owner said when he arrived he found a vehicle parked behind the building he did not recognize. The owner also said he found multiple doors unsecured on the property. 

Deputies arrived as the suspects were attempting to leave in their vehicle. Both individuals were detained during a traffic stop and deputies said they found stolen items from the building in the vehicle. 

Deputies arrested 34-year-old Alistra Hackney and 29-year-old Robert Gover, both of Smithland, charging both with burglary.
