A Tennessee man was busted for allegedly trafficking in methamphetamine outside a Paducah hotel after a tip to police.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office received a tip that the man had traveled to Paducah to sell methamphetamine. Deputies located the man as he was leaving a hotel on Technology Drive. He was stopped and allegedly gave drug detectives a false Texas driver's license.

Eventually, the man was identified as 42-year-old Steven Hearst of Hendersonville, Tennessee. Detectives also reportedly found several more fake licenses on his person, each with a different name and the man's photo. A K-9 indicated the presence of illegal drugs in his vehicle, but none were found. They did allegedly locate a .38 revolver.

A search warrant was obtained for Hearst's hotel room, and there they are said to have found approximately 148 grams of crystal methamphetamine, scales, baggies, more fake licenses, THC vape pens, a 9mm handgun, and $4,590 in cash.

Hearst was arrested and charged with firearm-enhanced trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a forged instrument, and traffic violations. He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
