The National Weather Service in Paducah said Wednesday two tornadoes were confirmed in Trigg County from Sunday morning's round of severe weather.

Survey crews determined that the first tornado touched down five miles southeast of Canton, then lifted about seven miles south of Cadiz six minutes later.

The damage was rated EF-1 with top winds of 95 miles per hour traveling a path of six miles and was 70 yards wide.

The second tornado touched down approximately three minutes later, nine miles southeast of Cadiz. The EF-2 tornado, with peak winds of 115 mph, remained on the ground for 19 miles and crossed I-24, Pennyrile Parkway, and Fort Campbell Boulevard. It ended northwest of Pembroke in Christian County.

The tornado caused damage to numerous homes due to downed trees. Two homes were directly impacted by tornadic winds and received roof damage.  Several farm buildings were also damaged.
