Head-on crash in Livingston County results in DUI arrest

A head-on crash involving a semi and a car in Livingston County sent a woman to jail on a DUI charge.

The crash happened on Wednesday at about 6 p.m. along US 60 near Lockhart Road, between Ledbetter and Smithland. The investigation by Livingston County Sheriff’s deputies said that a car driven by 46-year-old Melissa Gore of Benton crossed the center line into the path of an oncoming semi tanker truck, driven by 35-year-old Hunter Orenduff of Paducah. 

Investigators determined that Gore was under the influence at the time of the crash. She was arrested and charged with DUI, reckless driving, wanton endangerment, and criminal mischief.
