Governor Andy Beshear issued an order on Friday for flags in Kentucky to be lowered to half-staff from now until sunset Monday to honor two Tennessee National Guard pilots that were killed in a helicopter crash on Wednesday.

The pilots of the UH-60 Blackhawk died when the helicopter went down in northern Alabama.

One of the pilots, Chief Warrant Officer Danny Randolph of Murfreesboro, flew search and rescue missions after the flooding that devastated eastern Kentucky in 2022.

Beshear encourages all individuals, businesses, organizations, and government agencies to join in on the tribute.
