The governor was concerned over significant funding reductions in several areas including state government, public schools, nstural disaster response, prisoner housing and public safety investments.
Beshear stated the proposed House budget would hinder new job growth and infrastructure development.
Additionally, he highlighted funding cuts for crucial areas such as healthcare, including Medicaid, as well as community development projects and state parks.
Beshear also acknowledged the House budget is preliminary and expressed hope amendments would be made.
