Lexington's K.C. Crosbie is running to be the next co-chair of the Republican National Committee, vying to fill the spot vacated by Lara Trump.

Crosbie, currently the RNC treasurer and national committeewoman from Kentucky, picked up a big endorsement for her run from President-elect Donald Trump. Trump posted on Truth Social that he supports Crosbie and gives her credit for helping to break fundraising records.

Trump said, "As Treasurer, she helped the RNC smash every fundraising record in History, and fortified our Party’s financial foundation. KC has been with me from the very beginning, helping REAL Republicans get elected across the Country, and would be a tremendous Co-Chair of the RNC!"

For her part, Crosbie said, "I am humbled to have the endorsement of the greatest President of my lifetime."

Crosbie served three terms on the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council and ran unsuccessfully for Kentucky state treasurer, losing a close race to then-incumbent Todd Hollenbach. After that race, she became the finance chair for the Republican Party of Kentucky helping candidates across the state.

If Crosbie is elected, she would succeed Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of the President-elect.  Some peculation suggests Lara Trump may seek the newly-open Senate seat of Marco Rubio, the President-elect's choice to be Secretary of State.
