New Mattel theme park coming to Kansas City

Toy maker Mattel Incorporated this week announced plans for a new theme park in the Kansas City area.

Mattel Adventure Park will be an all-new entertainment resort destination located in Bonner Springs, Kansas. The family-friendly themed entertainment destination is set to open in 2026, with plans to break ground later this year.

Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City will offer three Hot Wheels themed roller coasters. It will also be home to the resurgent nostalgia for Barbie dolls, with a larger-than-life Barbie Beach
House, the Barbie Dream Closet Experience, which uses hologram technology to bring Barbie to life right before guests’ eyes, a Barbie-themed flying theater and a rooftop restaurant and bar.

Other fan-favorite Mattel brands such as Thomas the Train, He-Man vs. Skeletor Laser Tag, Magic 8 Ball, Pictionary and UNO.

The Kansas City location will join Mattel Adventure Park in Glendale, Arizona, already under construction.
